- For this sort of thing I commonly see:
- ctrl-W: write marked block to file
- alt-W: append marked block to file
- (admittedly not a great choice)
- and of course:
- ctrl-M: merge from file
- or
- ctrl-R: read block from file.
-
- Just a thought, but shouldn't the ctrl-C -X -V cut and paste shortcuts, very
- much standardized altready, be reserved together with any shift-ctrl-variations
- to apply specifically to only _clipboard_ operations? Aside from that the
- general use of shift-ctrl- as being a "non-default" variation of ctrl- seems
- sensible.
-
- Is there perhaps also a consensus that ctrl- shift- -insert and -delete should
- apply to block operations via a local (memory) buffer in an application, as
- distinct from using a system (disk) clipboard?
